Acupuncture

What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a therapeutic method used to encourage natural healing, relieve pain and improve the function of the body.  It involves inserting fine needles into the skin at specific points.

What kinds of acupuncture are used?

Classical Acupuncture uses Traditional Chinese Medicine and Theory.  Anatomical Acupuncture is a more modern approach based on anatomy and physiology.  Most treatments at Back in Motion are comprised of anatomical acupuncture.

How does acupuncture work using the anatomical method?

It stimulates the body to produce its own pain relieving chemicals called endorphins.  The release of endorphins restores energy and biochemical balance, stimulates natural healing and reduces inflammation through the release of natural cortisol.  Acupuncture also promotes both physical and emotional well-being.
